Conditions and Instructions for the Admission to Post-Graduation Courses

1. M.F.A. - Contemporary Art Practice

  1. Eligibility
    Candidates must have passed the Bachelor's in Fine Art' / Bachelor's in Design /Bachelor's in Architecture / Bachelor's in Business Administration / Bachelor's in Media Management / Bachelor's in Engineering degree examination in the respective branch from the University or an equivalent examination. The candidate must have at least passed the bachelor's degree in the respective branch with a Second Class division.

  2. Admission Process
    Admission to the Contemporary Art Practice course is based solely on the candidate's qualification and performance in an interview. The interview will be conducted by a panel of staff and / or experts appointed by the Dean of the Sir J. J. School of Art.

  3. Interview Evaluation
    • The Interview varies a total of 300 marks.
    • The Candidate who has secured at least 50 marks each in Theory exam of 100 marks and Practical of 100 marks will be eligible for the interview. least 50 marks in practical exam of 100 marks will be eligible to appear for the interview
    • Interview 50 marks.
    • Portfolio and Statement of marks 50 marks (Portfolio 25+ Statement of marks 25 marks)
    • Out of total 300 marks will be the final merit list.
  4. Portfolio Submission
    It is mandatory for the candidate to present their entire bachelor's Class / Sessional / Term work portfolio during the interview.

  5. Interview Components
    The specific Components of the interview will be decided by the panel of staff and / or experts conducting the interview. They have the authority to determine the structure and content of the interview.

The decision of the interviewing panel will be final and binding upon the candidates.

2. M.F.A. – Art Education

  1. Eligibility
    Candidates must have passed the Bachelor's in Fine Art / Bachelor's in Applied Art / Bachelor's in Design /Bachelor's in Architecture / Bachelor's in Engineering degree examination in the respective branch from the University or an equivalent examination. The candidate must have at least passed the bachelor's degree in the respective branch with a Second Class division.

  2. Admission Process
    Admission to the Art Education course is based solely on the candidate's qualification and performance in an interview. The interview will be conducted by a panel of staff and / or experts appointed by the Dean of the Sir J. J. School of Art.

  3. Interview Evaluation
    • The Interview carries a total of 300 marks.
    • Candidate who has secured at least 50 marks each in Theory of 100 marks and Practical of 100 marks will be eligible for the interview.
    • Interview 50 marks.
    • Class work and Statement 50 marks (Portfolio 25+ Statement 25 marks)
    • Out of total 300 marks will be the final merit list.
  4. Portfolio Submission
    It is mandatory for the candidate to present their entire bachelor's Class / Sessional / Term work portfolio during the interview. Only physical portfolio will be considered.

  5. Interview Components
    The specific Components of the interview will be decided by the panel of staff and / or experts conducting the interview. They have the authority to determine the structure and content of the interview.

3. M. Arch. – Metropolitan Architecture

4. M. Arch. – Architecture Education

  1. Eligibility
    Candidates must have passed the Bachelor's in Architecture degree examination in the respective branch from the University or an equivalent examination. The candidate must have at least passed the bachelor's degree in the respective branch with a Second Class division.

  2. Admission Process
    Admission to the Metropolitan Architecture course is based solely on the candidate's qualification and performance in an interview. The interview will be conducted by a panel of staff and / or experts appointed by the Principal of the Sir J. J. School of Architecture.

  3. Interview Evaluation
    • The Interview carries a total of 200 marks.
    • Theory of 50 marks.
    • Interview of 50 marks.
    • 100 marks will be based on the grand total of marks obtained in the B.Arch. degree examination in the respective branch
    • Out of total 200 marks will be the final merit list.
  4. Portfolio Submission
    It is mandatory for the candidate to present their entire bachelor's Class / Sessional / Term work portfolio during the interview.

  5. Interview Components
    The specific Components of the interview will be decided by the panel of staff and / or experts conducting the interview. They have the authority to determine the structure and content of the interview.

    Candidates must have passed the Bachelor's in Design / Bachelor's in Fine Art / Bachelor's in Applied Art / Bachelor's in Media Management / Bachelor's in Architecture / Bachelor's in Engineering degree examination in the respective branch from the University or an equivalent examination. The candidate must have at least passed the bachelor's degree in the respective branch with a Second Class division.

    Admission to the Art Education course is based solely on the candidate's qualification and performance in an interview. The interview will be conducted by a panel of staff and / or experts appointed by the Dean of the Sir J. J. School of Design.

    • Candidate who has secured at least 50 marks each in Textual Thinking text (Written) of 100 marks and Visual thinking test (practical) of 100 marks will be eligible for the interview.
    • Interview 50 marks.
    • Portfolio Presentation and Statement 50 marks (Class work 25+ Statement 25 marks)
    • Out of total 300 marks will be the final merit list.

  1. Eligibility
    Candidates must have passed the Bachelor's in Fine Art (B.F.A.) / Bachelor's in Visual Art (B. V.A.) degree examination in the respective branch from the University or an equivalent examination. The candidate must have at least passed the bachelor's degree in the respective branch with a Second Class division.

  2. Admission Process
    Admission to above MFA courses is based solely on the candidate's qualification and performance in an interview. The interview will be conducted by a panel of staff and / or experts appointed by the Dean of the Sir J. J. School of Art.

  3. Interview Evaluation
    • The interview carries a total of 100 marks.
    • Out of these, 50 marks (50% of the total) will be based on the grand total of marks obtained in the B.F.A. / B.V.A. degree examination in the respective branch.
    • The remaining 50 marks will be allotted based on the candidate's performance in the interview.
    • Out of total 100 marks will be the final merit list.
  4. Portfolio Submission
    It is mandatory for the candidates to present their entire bachelor's Class / Sessional / Term work portfolio during the interview. Only physical portfolios will be considered.

  5. Interview Components
    The specific Components of the interview will be decided by the panel of staff and / or experts conducting the interview. They have the sole authority to determine the structure and content of the interview.
